I'm an employee for almost 2 years now after graduating from college. I work in a processing plant right now and assigned as an operator of a risky type of machine (guess what it is, haha.). Last day I was reading a book about how to get the job you want. To tell you frankly, I'm not happy on my job right now. I'm not passionate doing it and planning to resign and apply to the job I love which is in the field of designing. As I read the book, I learned that there are six type of work personalities namely listed below.
1. Doer or Realistic
If you are a doer or realistic, you like to do things. You excel in work detail and mechanical areas. You make things with your own hands or with tools. You also like physical activities. You prefer to work with objects, machines, tools, plants or animals and prefer to be outdoors or an explorer.
This characteristics related to being a bookkeeper, a cashier, construction agent, an encoder, flight attendant, medical technicians, pilot, statistician.
2. Thinker or Investigative
If you are thinker or investigative type of person, you figure things out and are fascinated how things work. You ask questions and always curious about the things you see, you are also a logical type.
You can be an accountant, biologist, chemist, scientist, programmer, historian, an attorney, a doctor, detective, researcher and professor.
3. Creator or Artistic
You are a creator or artistic if you enjoy developing new ideas or reinventing old ones and have a very vivid imagination. You could be an architect, composer, copywriter, a disc jockey, editor, graphic artist, designer, newscaster, model, singer or a writer.
4. Helper or Social
You are a helper if you like to help other people. You excel in public service as you follow your emotions. You aim to make a difference to others. You could be a dietician, nurse, doctor, counselor, social worker, police officer, a teacher or a telecommunicator.
5. Persuader or Enterprising
You are a type of person who likes to work with people by influencing, persuading, performing or leading them for organizational goals or for economic gain. You like to study and analyze situations and you try to sway the opinions of others. You have a deep sense of self-confidence. You could be an advertiser, announcer, broker, insurance agent, a lawyer, a sales representative, a school principal and a networker.
6. Organizer or Conventional Fields
You like to work with data, have clerical and numerical ability, prefer to carry things out in detail. You like to have everything to go with the plan. Coordinating is your specialty. You could be a finance manager, hotel manager, director, urban planner, travel agent, a wedding planner.
After reading it, I learned that I belong to a doer and a thinker. I'm just sharing this to the readers specially to the employees out there to let them evaluate what type of worker are they. You can also give your suggestions to the occupations I wrote down, thank you!
